break on through

  • The VPN is up, which should make me happy, but doesn’t.

The Cisco guy claims no responsibility for this feat.  He said that he just logged in to look at a configuration, tossed out a ping, and the VPN came up.  I tried that many times before, to no avail, but I’m not going to complain.  The VPN is working and that’s good enough for me.

Unfortunately this means that I now have to get the far end of the VPN joined to their domain.  It’s a small office with a little server and three or four computers.  The actual labor involved in getting them on the domain isn’t going to be much.  The problem is that this branch office is located about four hours away.

So, it looks like I’ll be taking a bit of a road trip next week…
