“exotic”
One of the new Hunter talents, Beast Mastery, allows you to tame “exotic” creatures as pets. I had no idea what Blizzard considered to be an exotic creature, but I figured it wouldn’t be anything terribly special. Maybe a zhevra or something like that. I certainly did not expect to see what I did…
On the boat to Northrend there were a number of Hunters who had obviously tamed exotic pets. One of them had a devilsaur from Un’Goro. One of them had a two-headed, flaming Core Hound from the Molten Core. All sorts of giant creatures. And I do mean giant. Most Hunter pets shrink down to a more manageable size when you tame them… And I will admit that these pets were smaller than they started out (the Devilsaur, for example, was small enough to fit on the boat)… But they were all larger than I was.
I was absolutely amazed at these pets. Very dramatic. Very impressive.
I wonder if they’re actually as effective as they look? If they keep some of their more unique abilities, or if they just turn into generic critters.
Regardless, I’m now very eager to level a Hunter to 80 and see what kind of pets I can tame.
