Zero Punctuation: EVE Online
The Escapist | Zero Punctuation: EVE Online
This week, Yahtzee hits the final frontier in search of a truly different MMO. Instead, he finds Eve.
Hilarious, as usual, but I can’t say I really agree… Not just because I enjoy EVE, but because I don’t think Yahtzee got a good feel for the game.
I really can’t say I had a very good idea what was going on after only 14 days. Sure, I was having fun, but I didn’t know what I was doing. I’ve still got tons of questions. Seems like he’d need to play for a good month or two to get a decent feel for the game.
And it’s also hard to really get a feel for a game like EVE when you’re playing solo. So much of EVE depends on other players… The game itself is really less of a game than it is a framework to interact with other people. If you aren’t a member of a player corporation your options are really pretty limited… I know I’m having a hell of a lot more fun now that I’ve joined EVE University.
