So, obviously, I spent a good chunk of last night playing Overlord.
So far I am very impressed with the game. The installer warned me that my system does not meet the requirements, but allowed me to continue anyway. I’ve seen too many programs either refuse to install entirely if you don’t meet the requirements, or provide no warning at all - neither of which is terribly helpful. But, despite the fact that my machine really shouldn’t be running Overlord at all, it actually runs pretty well.

Terri just surprised the heck out of me… She bought me Overlord! I didn’t know the game was even out yet, and I didn’t think we could really afford it - I certainly didn’t expect to come home and find it waiting for me. But, she somehow managed to save up the money and snuck off to Electronics Boutique to buy it for me today. Very nice.

I’m feeling vaguely apprehensive about tomorrow.
We moved that server on Friday, did a lot of re-wiring. It looked like everything was working when we left Friday night, but they were closed for business…so there was no real test of all the equipment. I’m expecting to get a call from them sometime tomorrow…the only question is just how much is going to be broken.
And I’ve got to run over first thing in the morning and throw a couple port-forwards into a PIX that we just installed at a liquor store. Shouldn’t be more than 15 minutes to throw the commands in… But things have a way of going wrong on Mondays.
And our son is going off with Upward Bound tomorrow morning. They’re headed off on a four-day trip…going to do some community service, go to an amusement park, white-water rafting… All sorts of fun stuff. But he’s never really been off on his own like that, so I’m a little worried. And Terri is very worried.
The contractor starts tomorrow too. I certainly don’t expect anything to go horribly wrong…but it’ll still be somewhat disconcerting to have our house in various states of chaos…
So, yeah, interesting day ahead of me tomorrow…

We went to see Stephen King’s new movie, 1408, today. It was surprisingly good. I guess I’m not really sure what I expected…but it’s been so long since I saw a new Stephen King movie…and this one was rated PG-13…so I guess I had my doubts.
But it really was quite good. Decent acting, decent special effects, good storyline, some good scares - thoroughly enjoyable. One of the better horror movies I’ve seen in a while.
