We watched Soylent Green over the weekend… Terri had never seen it, so she queued it up and Netflix delivered. Even if you haven’t seen the movie you probably know the basic plot - soylent green is people!

Slashdot | Sci-Fi Writers Join War on Terror
Looks like the Department of Homeland Security is asking for suggestions from science fiction writers. I guess they’re going with the whole “failure of imagination” approach and asking more imaginative people for help… Seems like yet another empty gesture to me though.

Made it up to friendly with the Netherwing tonight. I got a trinket that lets me summon a tiny little Nether Drake to assist me in combat, and a new quest became available. Nothing amazing so far, but I am making progress…

I spent most of the weekend playing around with the new content in 2.1, and I’m very impressed. Lots of good stuff for anyone with Burning Crusade - not just the folks with the time and inclination to raid the big dungeons.

Slashdot | Bookstore Owner Burns Books
Interesting… Looks like some kind of PR stunt to me. The guy managed to sell a bunch of old books for $1 a piece that he was otherwise unable to sell. Got him some sales, some publicity, a spot on the front page of Slashdot… Not too shabby!
The Slashdot story has some interesting discussion about what makes a book “literary” or “classic” too… Always fun.
