Not that there was ever any doubt…but let it be said that I have no life.
I’m back from picking up Burning Crusade at a midnight opening at the local GameStop and I’m now installing and patching it. In the middle of the night.

Slashdot | Global Warming Only a Theory
Apparently some school board doesn’t want An Inconvenient Truth being shown in school because global warming is “only a theory”. Those people really ought to attend a halfway decent science class, because evidently they don’t know what “theory” means to a scientist.

Just got back from the dentist… Not much fun, but what do you expect? Had a couple fillings – some novacaine, drilling, etc. Nothing major, but enough to hurt now that the novacaine is wearing off.
I’m supposed to be eating lunch now…getting that out of the way before going in to work…but I’m afraid to try. I’m having a hard time just drinking a cup of coffee. My upper lip is still largely numb, and it’s hard to keep from dribbling hot coffee all over myself.
And, despite the fact that my lip is still numb, the novacaine is definitely wearing off. My jaw hurts quite a bit…a deep ache combined with a periodic piercing pain. Not fun at all. I took a couple Excedrin, but they haven’t touched it yet.
Right now, I’m wishing I’d asked for the entire day off instead of just the morning.

There’s a story mentioned on Slashdot today about how a business wound up switching to Ubuntu quite unintentionally. An amusing read, to be sure…and it points out some very real shortcomings of the Windows software world…but ultimately it looks more like a poorly-planned installation than a fault with any of the vendors involved.

Despite the fact that it was only a four-day week, last week was awfully long and I’m glad it’s over. I’m thoroughly enjoying another three day weekend.
